The Lens of Echoed Futures
Echoes of Future Sight. That’s the essence of the Lens of Echoed Futures—a coin-sized obsidian artifact discovered deep within the Vault of Unbegun Tomorrows, buried beneath the ruins of Kirellion. Once a city-state where time was traded like currency, Kirellion collapsed during the Temporal Bankruptcy, leaving behind fractured vaults and unstable relics. Virell found the Lens embedded in a cracked pedestal, surrounded by decayed memory scrolls and shattered time safes.
The Lens doesn’t magnify—it reveals. When held to the eye, it overlays the present with flickering glimpses of futures that might unfold. These visions aren’t fixed; they shift with emotion, intention, and proximity. The concentric rings etched into its surface respond to the viewer’s inner state, making each experience deeply personal and unpredictable.
For Virell, the Lens became more than a tool—it became a compass. It didn’t offer direction, but potential. It taught him that time isn’t just layered—it’s reactive. Through it, he learned what the Chrono-Scribes once believed: “The future is not a place. It is a chorus.” A chorus of possibilities, harmonized by feeling and choice.
Echoes of Future Sight defines this artifact’s power. It doesn’t promise certainty—it invites interpretation. To look through the Lens is to engage with time as a living language, one that sings in fragments and flickers.
